Citizen Consumer Club

The Citizen Consumer Club of our college works on a motivational zeal of creating awareness among students at a very young age and through them the general public. We aim to build in student's conscientiousness towards doing what is right and to question the wrong. The motto of the club "AWARE! ALERT! And ACT!" is ingrained in the students through innovative means. The following activities are undertaken by the club every year.

• Awareness campaigns to inject knowledge and skills relating to consumer rights.


• Out-reach programmes to villages to bring awareness and realisation of duties and responsibilities of the citizens.


• Monthly meetings for the members to make them aware of laws enacted for protection/welfare of consumers and the details When? Where? And Whom? To complain.


• Conducting seminars/workshops towards women's development, development of leadership qualities etc., to build a base for enlightened consumers as the foundation of future India.


• Participating in exhibitions and depicting through live presentations, models, charts, etc., various aspects viz., power saving, safe usage of gas, road safety, food protection, consumer redressal mechanisms.

Achievements

Emerged as the BEST CONSUMER CLUB at District Level and obtained Cash award (Rs.3000) and certificate from the Thanjavur District Collector for the year 2011-12.
